Building resilience into your business simply means that you set up your business so that when something happens, you’re ready to take advantage of the opportunities that come your way.

Being resilient means that you’re going to set up a reasonable budget, set up systems and processes, use the right tools, and keep informed and educated about your industry and business. Doing these things makes it possible for you not just to notice opportunities but take advantage of them.

The most exciting thing to note when you are experiencing any disruption is how most of the time, challenges, whether internal or external, will expose weaknesses in your current system. It gives you the chance to shore up gaps in your systems and processes, improving things now but also for the future.

Consider Choices

When you are looking for cloud storage, a server, or any service to help you run your business, it’s essential always to consider all your choices. Starting with what you know, learning all you can from the experts, and then researching the options will always make better choices.

Set Your Intention

The thing about intentions is that you can always have one intent and end up with an unintended outcome or impact on yourself and your business that was not intended. Therefore, you must set intentions and go through the options testing for potential impact before choosing.

Do Your Due Diligence

Don’t make choices based on only your gut. Instead, think about how it feels in your gut or your heart, but match those thoughts with real data and statistics from reliable sources to ensure that you are making the right choice. While you can’t know everything, if you consider various possibilities and get information from the right places, you will make better decisions.

Weigh Your Options

Don’t just make choices because someone told you to do it. Even if you read this and think you want to use one of the options recommended, like Backup Buddy, don’t automatically assume that it is right for you. Still, look at all the options within your budget. Try them out, test them out, make sure it works in the way you need it to.

Seek Feedback

If you work with others in your business, it’s easy to seek feedback from other stakeholders, but when you’re alone and running your cloud business from your laptop in the dining room, it can feel like you’re all alone. You’re not. Join mastermind groups, networking groups, and find people who want what you do to share information and get feedback.

If you have any weakness in your systems or processes, it creates resiliency that enables you to truly leverage opportunities when you fix them first. You don’t need to wait for the challenge to shore up your business plugging gaps, getting rid of bottlenecks, setting aside a rainy-day budget, and more. Only then can you really and truly take a chance to see what’s on the other side of that door.
