Even if you’re a service provider, you can use content marketing to help you get more clients, keep your current clients happy, and even supplement your income with affiliate and referral marketing. Let’s look at some content ideas for service providers that will help you succeed.
On Your Website
Most of the content you create should go on your website first so that you can take advantage of search engines to send you a steady stream of potential new customers. Plus, it gives you a central location to put the content that is important for you and your customers.
You’ll want to include content on the services you provide, who you provide them to (your ideal audience), and why you do what you do. You can also include blog posts about each service type, explaining what you do and how you do it so that it’s more understandable. Another good page to include is a resource list that includes affiliate links to any software or products you use personally or with your clients.
This type of content is important because you want your audience to have no doubt about what you do when they go to your website. They should be able to see what you do, who you do it for, and then make an appointment with you to talk about hiring you easily.
On Social Media
Social media is a place that a service provider can really shine. If you’re unsure about what to post, start with sharing what you post on your website. You can set up software like Hootsuite to periodically share your service-related posts that give examples and showcase what you do, along with a call to action to sign up for a discovery call.
In Email
You can also delight customers in an email. Once someone is your customer, you have the right to email them unless they ask you not to. Send periodic updates about what you are doing, new services you are offering, and any products that are relevant to the customer that they might like that you have become an affiliate for.
Set up a series for welcoming your customers that gives them information and directions about how best to work with you. Give them a coupon code to give to a friend if they refer you to someone else. Tell them about anything you think will help them in their business.
On Other People’s Sites
You can also guest post. If you are an expert at social media marketing and you offer services related to social media marketing, you can write as an expert guest poster. You should get a link to your landing page in your bio as a contributor, and you should not pay for space.
There is no doubt that content marketing works for every type of business owner. If you focus on creating the best content for your website, social media profiles, and email marketing efforts, you can build your business better and bigger than you may have ever considered.
